Pella Corporation Strengthens Local Communities with Over $1.5 Million in Grants in 2023

Funding enhances local education, youth programs, and community betterment

Pella Corporation awarded over $1.5 million in grants to nonprofits nationwide in 2023. The recipients are transforming communities by supporting youth education, enhancing community engagement, and promoting healthier and more connected lifestyles. 

The selection process for grant recipients was rigorous, ensuring that the chosen nonprofits aligned with Pella’s commitment to foster education, uplift communities, and drive lasting positive societal changes.

Some of this year’s largest grants included: 

  • Central College ($130,000), Pella, IA, supporting the STEM and Strength and Conditioning programs 
  • Pella Community Food Shelf ($100,000), Pella, IA, to renovate their building so they can continue to alleviate hunger in the community
  • Stepping Stones Early Learning Center ($50,000), Knoxville, IA, to support repairs and classroom updates so they can continue providing quality child care
  • City of Sioux Center Library ($50,000), Sioux Center, IA, for renovations of the children’s STEM room, conference, study, and computer rooms
  • Healthy Adams Bicycle-Pedestrian, Inc. ($50,000), Gettysburg, PA, to support construction of a new phase of the Gettysburg Inner Loop bicycle and pedestrian trail

Noteworthy projects awarded grants in Pella, Iowa, the company’s headquarters, included the Pella Christian High School for building, stadium and technology improvements, programming sponsorship for the Pella Opera House, and a donation to The Well Resource Center to support the Newton Thrift Store start-up and remodeling of the Pella Thrift Store. 

Additionally, Pella team members demonstrated a commitment to community service, contributing 15,000 hours of volunteering throughout the year. These efforts have positively impacted local communities, supporting a wide array of causes and initiatives.

The dedication of Pella extends beyond financial contributions and volunteer hours. The company's team members also rallied behind their commitment to community enhancement by providing nearly $250,000 in matching gifts. These matching gifts were designed to amplify the impact of individual and team fundraising efforts, further strengthening the reach and effectiveness of community organizations.
