Pella’s Industry-Changing Innovation Earns Honorable Mention for Product Design by Fast Company

Pella Corporation’s Steady Set™ Interior Installation System has earned an Honorable Mention in the Product Design category of Fast Company’s ​​2025 Innovation by Design Awards, which honor designers and businesses solving today’s most pressing problems and anticipating the challenges of tomorrow. Entries are judged on functionality, logic, impact and beauty, making this recognition one of the industry’s most respected design distinctions.  

Steady Set™ is the industry’s first interior installation system for wood windows, designed to make installation safer, faster and more precise through smart, intuitive components. Born from months of jobsite observations, Pella’s design team discovered that 85% of installers were setting windows from the interior, despite products being designed for exterior installation. This insight led to a redesign guided by Pella’s human-centered design principles, putting installers at the heart of the innovation and creating a solution that redefines what’s possible in window installation.

Since its launch, Steady Set has gained rapid adoption among builders and installers nationwide, earning praise for improving jobsite safety, installation consistency and crew confidence. The system has already been recognized with multiple industry honors and is influencing how professionals think about window installation.
