Pella Corporation Joins Manufacturing Industry to Sponsor Historic “Creators Wanted” Campaign
Sponsorship to Energize Multimillion-Dollar Effort to Inspire Next Generation of Creators
Pella Corporation is proud to announce a pledge of $100,000 to help jumpstart the transformational “Creators Wanted” campaign—a nationwide effort to reshape America’s perception of manufacturing and confront the industry’s growing skills gap. Led by the National Association of Manufacturers and The Manufacturing Institute, the workforce and education partner of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), “Creators Wanted” will take an unprecedented approach to solving the manufacturing industry’s current workforce challenges.
Launching this spring, the “Creators Wanted” campaign will feature an on-the-ground, interactive mobile tour designed to inspire Americans in more than 20 states to pursue the high-skilled, high-paying jobs in modern manufacturing. The tour demonstrates the urgency of manufacturers’ workforce crisis and the industry rallying together to change the perception of manufacturing and build a talent pipeline.
“We need to unite together as an industry to build the modern manufacturing workforce of tomorrow,” said Rob Leskun, Vice President of Operations, Pella Corporation. “We’re committed to supporting the National Manufacturer’s Association – and a number of organizations across the country – to inspire the next generation.
By 2025, “Creators Wanted” aims to reduce the skills gap in the United States by 600,000, expand the number of students enrolling in technical and vocational schools or reskilling programs by 25 percent and increase the positive perception of the industry among parents to 50 percent from 27 percent today.
Pella Corporation designs and manufacturers windows and doors for residential homes and commercial applications. The company is headquartered in Pella, Iowa and employs more than 7,000 people with 15 manufacturing locations and more than 200 showrooms across the country.
