Pella Corporation Grants $60,000 to Support Community Initiatives at 7th Annual Joan Kuyper Farver Spirit Awards

The Pella Rolscreen Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Pella Corporation, named team member Stacy De Jong as the 2024 winning recipient of the Joan Kuyper Farver Spirit Award, awarding a $25,000 grant in her name to Journey Up Mentoring of Pella for Kids (JUMP) in Pella, IA.  

Established in 2018, the Joan Kuyper Farver Spirit Award honors Pella team members who demonstrate a caring spirit and passion for community service. The winner received a $25,000 grant for the nonprofit organization of their choice, and runners-up received a $5,000 grant for their selected organizations. 

Stacy De Jong was nominated by her peers for her spirit of giving and dedication to making the Pella, IA community a better place. She is deeply involved in the community and is passionate about doing work that creates a lasting impact, whether it’s volunteering for Tulip Time or serving as the President of the Pella Business Women’s Club. In addition, her leadership behind the scenes with After Prom and concessions for athletics and the arts, ensure the success of these events. De Jong selected JUMP for Kids as the recipient of her award because of its mission to connect children with trained adult mentors who help them reach their potential.

In addition to the $25,000 grant, Pella awarded $5,000 on behalf of each finalist to their chosen organizations:

• 4-H Clubs & Affiliated 4-H Organizations (Taylor County Club), Bedford, IA 
• Boy Scouts of America Central Florida Council, Apopka, FL  
• Indiana Township Fire Department, Knoxville, IA 
• Carroll Action Shooting Sports, Carroll, IA 
• Siouxland Adaptive Sports Inc., Sioux Center, IA 
• Christian County Coal Mine Museum, Taylorville, IL
