Pella Corporation Donates $85,000 to Sioux Center Organizations to Kick-Off 2022

Three organizations in Sioux Center, Iowa, have been awarded grants from Pella Corporation. Totaling $85,000, these grants will help pay for various project- related costs associated with new, or existing community-oriented spaces.

Recipients of these recent grants, total funds received and comments from key leaders include:

Sioux Center Indoor Turf Field ($50,000) – The grant will be used to help with the construction of a new indoor turf facility to provide a multi-purpose space for sporting and recreational activities. This project is a collaboration between the city, Dordt University and local businesses. 

“We are grateful for the generous donation from the Pella Corporation to help with the construction of the American State Bank Sports Complex. This facility will benefit both Dordt athletics and the greater Sioux Center community, providing a place where we can enhance our athletic and recreational programs and continue to maintain community partnerships. Sioux Center Christian School ($25,000) – The grant will be used to help with the construction of a new multi-purpose space and classroom addition at the school.

Along with the Staff Member of the Month Award, in which they honor Sioux Center teachers who go above and beyond, they also contribute to the Classroom to Career program. Family Crisis Centers ($10,000) – the grant will be used to help pay for a remodeling and painting project at the facility, which provides free, confidential services to many communities throughout northwest Iowa – and it is the only facility of its kind in the area.

“The donation from Pella Corporation will help Family Crisis Centers build a safe and secure foundation for foster children. For the first time in the state of Iowa’s history, foster children will have an environment to reconnect and bond with their biological parents. Funds from the Pella Foundation have thrust the Family Visitation Center into immediate action.” – Shari Kastein, Executive Director, Family Crisis Centers, Inc.
