Integrated Rolscreen® Wins A|N Best of Products Award

Pella's Game-Changing Window Solution Receives Best of Products Award in "Openings" Category from The Architect's Newspaper

Pella Corporation is pleased to announce that its game-changing Integrated Rolscreen®, a concealed, retractable screen that moves seamlessly with the sash of double- and single-hung windows, has been recognized by The Architect’s Newspaper, winning an A|N Best of Products Award in the Openings category. This honor is part of the 4th annual A|N Best of Products Awards, which recognizes new products from designers and manufacturers based on innovation, aesthetics, performance and value.

Pella’s Integrated Rolscreen was selected for this honor from more than 500 award submissions received by The Architect’s Newspaper. The Integrated Rolscreen, which launched in August at more than 200 Pella retail locations across the country, is a home design innovation first that retains the aesthetic appeal of the window, while allowing homeowners to have a screen that automatically appears when the window is opened and is hidden when the window is closed. It also eliminates the need to store window screens.

The Integrated Rolscreen is featured in The Architect’s Newspaper’s September issue, and will be featured again in the “Best of Design” special issue, released in December, online, and on social media.

According to Matt Shaw, Senior Editor at The Architect’s Newspaper, “Our esteemed jury panel was particularly impressed by the subtle ingenuity of the mechanism in Pella’s Integrated Rolscreen.”

“We are incredibly honored to receive this award, especially for a product design that conveys the importance of looking toward the future of window design through research and development,” said Alan Pickett, Director of Architectural Business Development, Pella Corporation. "This project has been a passion for our entire innovation team because the Integrated Rolscreen is a game-changer for architects, builders, designers and consumers. It adds both functionality and simplicity, and we’re proud to offer a completely new solution with convenience and flexibility that Pros and homeowners will value.”

The Integrated Rolscreen appears at both the lower sash and the upper sash of double-hung windows, and appears at the lower sash of single-hung windows. Pella designed the Integrated Rolscreen with practicality and homeowners’ modern day desires in mind, bringing forward functionality, durability and the unhindered beauty of their home. These are qualities that homeowners and home project partners, including architects and designers, often look for when selecting windows. In a recent survey, Pella found that 69 percent of homeowners open their double-hung windows more frequently than any other type of window*. Details matter, and it can be difficult to enjoy the beauty of a space when the windows are covered with screen cloth. For more information on the Integrated Rolscreen, visit pella.com.
