100 Years of Manufacturing: Collaboration and Innovation in the Workplace

Over the past 100 years, Pella Corporation has redefined what’s possible in window and door manufacturing, blending craftsmanship, forward-looking innovation, and the power of people. This October, under The Manufacturing Institute’s theme “Collaborate to Innovate,” Pella celebrates Manufacturing Month, recognizing the individuals and ideas shaping the future of modern manufacturing.

Powered by People, Built on Innovation

Collaboration and innovation are driven by people. Across every facility, Pella team members are finding new ways to collaborate, solve problems, support their communities, and grow their skills. Whether building advanced automation systems or mentoring the next generation, Pella’s workforce continues to set the standard for what modern manufacturing looks like.

Changing the Perception of Manufacturing

Manufacturing has long been viewed through the lens of the “4Ds” – dirty, dark, dangerous, and dingy – but today’s factories are hubs of technology and innovation. Pella’s Innovation Incubator houses robots, laser cutters, CNC machines, 3D printers and engineers and product developers who work to better the customer experience. Pella’s factory floors are outfitted with smarter tools, too. By embracing automation, AI and digital tools, Pella is showing that a career in manufacturing can be smarter, safer, more collaborative and deeply connected to customers.
