FSC Certification means that the four stewardship counsel has determined that for Pella customers, when they buy a Pella wood product, that the wood has come from forests which are responsibly managed and harvested and will be sustainably available for future customers. Responsibly managed forests are forests in which the harvest level is such that the forest resources won’t be depleted not only in the near future, but in the long term. And in addition to that, it also means that the forests aren’t encroaching on other areas which might be endangered, that we’re protecting endangered species, streams and rivers in those forested areas will be protected, the ecosystem would maintain its balance even though we are going and utilizing some of the natural resources coming from those forests.
